Two projects involving our faculty member, Dr. Seçkin Özcan, as a researcher have been selected for funding under Türkiye’s prominent research support programs.
Dr. Özcan serves as a researcher in the projects titled “Design and Manufacturing of a Triply Periodic Minimal Surface Tibial Implant Using Selective Laser Melting Technology,” supported under the 2025-A3-01 Call of the Turkish Health Institutes Presidency (TÜSEB), and “Comparative Analysis of the Effect of Different Lattice Topologies on the Fatigue Performance of Tibial Implants Produced by Selective Laser Melting,” supported under the TÜBİTAK 1002-A Rapid Support Program.
With a total funding amount of 350,000 TL, these projects focus on the design, manufacturing, and performance evaluation of innovative tibial implants produced using selective laser melting technology. The studies aim to develop biocompatible implants with high mechanical strength and optimized porous structures, while also comparatively investigating the mechanical behavior and fatigue performance of different lattice topologies.
The findings are expected to contribute to the development of safer, more durable, and longer-lasting orthopedic implants.
