The Medical Specialization Board (TUK) has announced that six departments within Yalova Training and Research Hospital— which has an affiliation protocol with our University—have been officially accredited to provide residency training and have been granted the status of an “Educational Clinic.”
In accordance with Decision No. 2765 adopted at the 145th meeting of the Medical Specialization Board held on January 7, 2026, the following departments at Yalova Training and Research Hospital have been included within the scope of the Authorized Residency Training Program:
-
Emergency Medicine
-
Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
-
General Surgery
-
Internal Medicine
-
Neurology
-
Orthopedics and Traumatology
With this decision, Yalova Training and Research Hospital has gone beyond being solely a healthcare service provider and has strengthened its role as an academic training institution where medical specialty students (resident physicians) will be trained.
Within this framework, resident physicians who are currently continuing their specialty training in the aforementioned departments will be able to apply for transfer in accordance with the relevant legislation. In addition, physicians preparing for the Medical Specialty Examination (TUS) will be able to follow announcements regarding quotas to be opened in the coming periods.
