The project entitled “The Mother–Placenta–Infant Axis in Preeclampsia: Associations of the Placental Metabolome and Meconium Microbiome with Neonatal Clinical Outcomes,” led by Gülsüm Kaya, a faculty member of our institution, has been selected for funding under the Turkish Health Institutes Presidency (TÜSEB) 2026-A4 Call for Proposals. With a budget of 499,000 TL, this research project aims to investigate metabolic and microbiome alterations across the mother–placenta–infant axis in cases of Preeclampsia and to elucidate their relationships with neonatal clinical outcomes. By examining the placental metabolome and meconium microbiome, the study seeks to contribute to a better understanding of the biological mechanisms underlying neonatal health in pregnancies complicated by preeclampsia.
