Orientation Program Held at Yalova University Faculty of Medicine

An inaugural lecture was held as part of the orientation program for the 2026-2027 academic year, marking the great pride and excitement of commencing education in Yalova—specifically within our Faculty of Medicine’s own morphology building—for the first time.

The program, held at the university’s July 15 Conference Hall, was attended by Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Bahçekapılı, Vice-Rector Prof. Dr. Sedar Geri, Yalova Provincial Health Director Specialist Dr. Ömer Halim Kaşıkcı, Founding Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Prof. Dr. Vefik Arıca, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Prof. Dr. Nurşah Başol, as well as faculty members and students.

During the program, opening speeches were delivered by the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Dr. Nurşah Başol; the Yalova Provincial Health Director, Specialist Dr. Ömer Halim Kaşıkcı; and the Rector, Prof. Dr. Mehmet Bahçekapılı. Following the speeches, the Founding Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Dr. Vefik Arıca, gave the inaugural lecture titled "The Art of Medicine."

Gifts were presented to the top three students admitted to the Faculty of Medicine. Students who gained admission with high academic rankings were congratulated and received their gifts.

Sharing the excitement and pride of the new academic year, the students met with the faculty's academic staff and administrators as they took the first step into their academic and professional lives.

The program concluded with a group photo and the closing session.
